I love Rome its so totally awesome.

It is my favorite show on television.
Every now and then you see an actor come in and own a role - Ciaran Hinds did that for Caesar, which probably makes him my favorite in the season (although I can't think of any I don't like).
My favorite scene has to be the gladiator fight scene in 1/11 "The Spoils".

Not only it is an excellent show, but for once, I also feel one can learn something out of it. If the historical approach is not always fault-less, it has the advantage to see history from the living point of view.
In other word, when studying ancient history it is very easy to loose sight of the life of the city. I remember reading and studying Caesar in class - and it always seemed so calm, so - posed. Then watching the show one finds the passions that are barely under the surface - Marcus Antonius so crass, so plebeian, Cato, so - ahhh, stubburn, it seems to listen to those people today complaining that modern life has killed family values... and it's true, it's true! if you read Cato texts, that is what he wrote about....
I was sorry to see Caesar murdered. When I visited Rome last fall, I went through the Forum with different feelings than all previous times.

Oh I love it so much!! I dont know who my favourite is I love them all. I love Pullo. I want good things for him. Vorenus...but Im upset since Niobe died, so Im not as entranced witht hem anymore. I love Attia...but wow, SOOOOO viscious. What she did to Servillia!!!! ::GASP:: that was insane!!! I loved loved loved Octavius...but the new actor....I dunno.....not the same ::sigh:: Oh well I love it so, anyhow!!!! LOVE IT!

I loved loved loved it. I like Vorenus , but my fave was marc anthony.haha the astia was ok too a bit of a b@#$ though. In a good way

Great show.
Attia is the better role but Octavius is the better looking character.
