First the livebearers...Congrats!... The best way to tell if they cango back in with the parents is by size, not age. Basically when they are too big to fit in the parents mouths you will be ok. It's very difficult to put a time on that because so much can influence thier growth rate.. Just keep feeding well and keep the water and the tank as clean as possible and they will grow really fast.

Now... the bettas. Nice looking guys.

Here's 2 links to some good info:

Those should answer all your betta questions

Best of luck with them!

Oh my. Where to start?!

WELL!

First! Happy Birthday! =)

Second: The babies have to be at LEAST the size of the adults' mouthes or a good majority of them will be eaten. If they're larger than the adult's mouths (I'd wait until March for the January babies and April for the February babies) then they're good to be put back into the tank with their parents-so long as you don't mind incest fishes! =)

Ah,bettas! GORGEOUS boys,too.

Your best bet for these boys is to get a pair of ten gallon tanks. If you want to keep some fish with them? Keep the 1 gallon=1" of fish rule in mind. Bettas are about 3-4 inch fish,so you'd have room for three or four zebra danios, tetra or the like. Get a good community tropical fish and most bettas will enjoy their company. Shrimp can be put with bettas, too, and they're more or less no load at all to the biological filtration (you don't count them when you add up the number of " in a tank of fish,in other words, unless you're severely overstocked). Snails, however,MUST. be counted and equal about 1 snail=1 gallon.

And you always go by the -adult- size of a fish. Never the young fish size. =)

Dear gods, though! Good luck with all those babies!

Edit: Oh,for shame on me!

As for mates for your bettas! Females are easily able to be found at a LOT of pet stores. You'll need to condition them to be bred and all,and it takes quite a bit to rear betta fry. There's tons of websites about it,so just google 'betta breeding' or words to that effect and you should get some wonderful information. =)

Introduce the fry when they are large enough to not be eaten by the parents and other fish in the aquarium. As for the Betas most states don't allow the sale of female Betas. I don't know which states allow this, but one is Texas. Keep the tanks clean and feed them regularly to keep them alive.

Fry's are best served to the parents warm and toasty, slightly salted! You may want to take the temperature before dipping in the tank. You do not want to overheat the fish - they'll already be over excited by the fact that they are getting their frys back! Plus, the oily shimmer on the top of the tank makes for some great viewing!!!

you can put them with their parents now if you want; it depends on whether you want them to be eaten or not.
