None of the Bronte sisters did, Charlotte, Emily, and their brother all wrote really long books. Anne Bronte, however, wrote 2. I'm not sure about Jane Austen, though.

I love the Bronte sisters and I love Jane Austen!!!
I'm sure they did write short stories
don't know of any published though...

No clue about the Bronte sisters... BUT Jane Austen juvenilia is hilarious (things she wrote in her teens). Here's a link. Enjoy!

Long novels were all the rage then. Short stories don't really come into vogue until the 19th century.
