The cursor changes into a different symbol and moves around the screen on its own. When this happens I also get an odd round symbol on my screen. It's about the size of a dime, sometimes with two arrows inside the circle, sometimes with 4 pyramid shapes in the circle pointing out with a dot in the middle.

When this happens, I have no control of my computer. The screen shrinks, the tool bar will move, etc...

I have up to date anit-spy/virus and I'm clean.I have even tried using the system restore disks>When I did this the problem went away for about 24 hours. Now it's doing it again.

I would really appreciate any help with this..

Thanks.

Hi. If you have a mouse with a wheel, clicking on the wheel while on a site or in a document will open a scroll cursor. Its a circle with an up arrow and down arrow. Just click the wheel again to leave it. It's used to scroll automatically so you don't have to keep moving the wheel. Moving your cursor up or down on the screen makes it scroll faster up or faster down. Freaky if you don't know what's happening, huh.

This can happen if you use a wheel mouse and click the wheel. The cursor will change to the shape you described and it will lock into scroll mode where if you move the mouse the screen moves. You might want to try a mouse without a wheel for a while and see if the problem comes up again.

If you can back up your data and have Norton Ghost pre-installed, then restore your computer to when you got.
