Only the people who have never used it demonize weed and they have no idea of what they are saying. I'm fifty four, have smoked weed for thirty five years, own a business, pay taxes and work five, sometimes six days a week. My memory is better than most people I know, my spelling and grammar are fine and my ability to communicate serves me well enough to get my point across. I thought this issue would have been put to rest years ago. I do not consider myself a criminal for using pot, I consider my government intolerant for not giving me a choice of which substance I want to use to change my every day reality. Why should I be punished for choosing to smoke instead of drinking alcohol, which I never do. Let the government control who grows it, we can then have quality control, and tax it just like alcohol. We are throwing away enormous amounts of money trying to stop what many Americans want and also creating criminals out of otherwise productive citizens. It's way past time we change the laws concerning the usage of marijuana.

No, don't we have enough people getting stoned already? As far as being addictive, all that has to happen to know for sure is if something is addictive are withdrawal symptoms. By the way your source is old and as most people know people using always deny the substance is addictive.
The following was in the news recently:
"... studies have shown that when regular pot smokers quit, they do experience withdrawal symptoms, a characteristic used to predict addictiveness. Most users of more addictive drugs, such as cocaine or heroin, started with marijuana, scientists say, and the earlier they started, the greater their risk of becoming addicted".
"...Marijuana today is more potent and therefore more toxic than marijuana grown in the 1970s, Volkow says. Back then, she says, plants typically contained only 2% THC. Today, she says, marijuana plants typically contain 15% THC".

Marijuana should be legalized. Its not bad and doesn't make you stupid like alcohol. I know someone who used to take Marijuana. He was not addicted to it at all. He also never thought he was invincible and would not jump out in front of a train. The only thing it does to you is make you think things are funnier. He is very smart and knows alot of things. The only reason Marijuana is illegal is because you can grow it in your own yard and that would ruin the businesses.
If Marijuana is illegal so should Alcohol because what they say Marijuana does to you is the same as what Alcohol does to you.

Yea,I think it should be legal.I used to smoke it,and it never got me wasted.I stopped smoking because of drug testing at work. That was six years ago.I work for myself now and chose not to smoke because its illegal and im really trying to stay legal.
I think most of the perscription drugs out there should be illegal.I know people that are like zombies. And their driving on the roads.Perscription drugs kill more people in this world than marijuana has,By the way, marijuana has never killed anyone.

Yes, our jails are full of non-violent criminals and this is a waste of money and time. If marijuana were legal that would significantly cut, if not eliminate, any of the crime around the sale and use of marijuana. Alcohol is a far greater liability in terms of addictiveness and loss of life. I think the best option would be to legalize the growth of marijuana.

It should not be legalized because then corporations would take it over and put poisons and chemicals and flavorants in it like the do tobacco. Most of the harmful substances in tobacco are added in, and are not there naturally. However, it should be decriminalized for individual usage.

I don't see a reason why it shouldn't be legalized.
Cigarettes are legal. Booze is legal. I don't see why marijuana isn't legal.
Oh and alcohol and cigarettes are both addictive. So addiction shouldn't determine legality.

I've never smoked it, but from what I've seen through friends/contacts etc. it is no worse that alcohol. Actually alcohol is probably worse because it causes many people to become angry and violent.
So yes, as a non-pot person I think it should be legal.

Let's stop all this argument back and forth, it is/it isn't.
Let's legalize it, tax it and take the fun right out of it. Usage might go down. If it goes up, welll we are collecting taxes.
I am alll for legalization.
