i am audition for an academy, and they said that i need 16 bars from a song, what does that mean?

yeah, i was thinking that my audition is gonna be beautiful by christina aguilera. how much do i have to sing the song?

It's 16 measures and each measure has a certain amount of beats in it..usually 4. They probably need 16 so they can hear a good amount of how you sound during your audition.

16 bars is a song that has 16 bars of music. There are 16 lines of music and each line is refered to as a bar. Kind of like the Game's song 300 bars.

The bar is the vertical line on a sheet of music.
