Indirectly, I think that music can influence behavior under certain circumstances. For instance, I like rhythm and instrumental sounds, but I focus on lyrics. The music itself vibrates the emotions, but the lyrics stimulate the mind. I may agree with the lyrics, connect it to the emotions, and act. Romantic music is an example of how music can put us in the mood, even if we weren't already thinking about it.
Someone with violent tendencies may use music to enhance the drive to be violent, but I don't think violent music will entice someone to be violent if they aren't already. When I hear violent music, it hurts my ears, and the sound vibrations cause nausia. Someone else might enjoy it.
The company who developed Muzak, better known as "elevator music", used a scientific method to determine the particular sound vibrations that either stimulate or sedate people, depending on the particular circumstance. Some retail stores incorporated Muzak for the sole purpose of driving out teenagers who tended to loiter in the store. During peak "teen" hours, they play "You Light Up My Life", and "Country Roads", and similar musical selections that subliminally irritate the high energy youngsters. It works very well in hospital emergency rooms as well, where a calm environment is needed to keep order under extreme stress.

Interesting, interesting...
Influenced how? Where if I listen to rap music I really get the strong urge to pick up my gat and shoot someone? No...
But do I think music has ENORMOUS emotional pull on people? Definately YES.
I love ALL music and it all depends on my MOOD... I love some soft country when I'm feeling romantic. I'll even put on some Michael Bolton if I'm feeling sentimental. When I have to focus, on goes the classical music. I can't dance in a club unless there's hip hop on and if I'm PISSED I have got to throw on my hard rock and heavy metal.
So, it definately influences my Mood... but not my behavior per se.

I'm influenced by what some people call "music". Whenever I hear a person driving by with his windows open and rap "music" blasting away, I feel like walking up to his car and shattering his window with my baseball bat.
Keep your windows closed, damnit! Don't force your crap on other people!

Conversely, the music that I'm listening to at any given time, reflects my mood and frame of mind.
I enjoy listening to most music, from classical through to metal and punk. It's all on my mood of the moment.

Music can affect your mood. But if anyone says that it goes out and makes you want to kill someone, that's a load of crap.
