I have been tasked with compiling a CD of 12 classic instrumentals for some friends. There are four tracks that immediately spring to mind - the classics, in fact

Green Onions - Booker T & The MGs
The Teams That Meet In Caffs - Dexy's Midnight Runners
Soul Finger - Bar-Kays
Moonlight Serenade - Glenn Miller

I need some more suggestions. Two rules - no vocals at all, and no instrumental cover versions

The "best answer" can also have a copy of the CD if they want to email me

Any track from herbie hancocks "head hunters" album -it was groundbreaking:

Anything by the James Taylor Quartet -the theme to starsky and hutch is probably their most famous.
