This is background for a mystery I'm writing. The victim was shot and killed. A couple of hours before he died, he was punched out. The punch left a bruise during life, but how would it look after the victim died? Specifically, I'm asking if the site of the bruise would be obvious to a witness finding the victim. Would it be darker in color, larger in size after death? And would it be obvious enough to be seen in a black and white crime scene photo? Thank you!!!

it would grow because the body is alive for like a couple of hours (not the brain) so it would swell liek a regular bruise

I'm guessing that it would just be a red mark or a slight grey/pink color. It usually takes a day or 2 for a bruise to show up, unless that person is prone to extremely fast bruising! It might be swollen, depending how hard the "victim" was punched! I have only seen dead bodies & never inspected them for bruising! Why don't you call a Coroner & ask them? A Mortician might also be able to help you! They do the make-up on a corpse & they have extensive knowledge on how a body decomposes.

I'd suggest that you call the "Internet CSI."
