Mars has 2 moons--Phobos (orbiting about 5,000 miles up) and Deimos (10,000 miles). The names are Latin--they mean "Fear" and "Panic" respectiv. Both are very small--just a few miles across; Deimos is the larger of the two. Some scientists think they are asteroids that got caught in Mars' gravity.

Thank God you asked this question here rather than just Googleing the answer. Placing the phrase "moons of mars" into Google returns more than 1.1 million references to Phobos and Deimos. Again; thank you for not using a search engine for such a basic question. Thank you!!!! Thank You!!!

Yes, it has two, phobos and deimos. However, they are both very small, and are not round. They look more like potatoes. Phobos is 8.3 x 5.7 miles, and Deimos is 4.7 x 3.2 miles.
