I've removed the virus, but when I go to un-install some programs, I can't. My system tells me that I have to get approval from my administrator. I am the only person on my computer. It also turned off my task manager functions.

1. Always Always Disable System Restore when you're infected with a virus and ready to scan the computer. Viruses will hide themselves in the Restore files, and when you scan your computer the antivirus program will not find them in their as the program cannot scan the restore file. Also if you restore your computer back at an earlier time all your doing is reinstalling the virus so don't do that.

2. Alway scan your computer in safe mode if possible, some antivirus programs allow this and some don't, but all anti-spyware programs can in safe mode. In normal mode the virus is always running in the background most of the time, and in safe mode it doesn't usually start up with the computer.

3. Scan with an antivirus program and multiple spyware programs.

4. Once you go into safe mode make sure you check add/remove programs and uninstall anything thats not suppose to be there. Check the root drive C: and make sure no .bat files exist as these may install the program over and over every time you restart your computer, also check your Temp folder which is hidden and delete everything in it.

Are you sure the virus is gone, because it sounds like it is still lurking about your PC somewhere. All your administrator settings are messed up it sounds like, along with some other ones. I'm going out on a limb and suggest you do a system restore, found in the start menu, Help & Support Center, under Pick a task, go to System restore and follow what it says about picking a restore date, before all this happened. Make sure you have no programs running. After it does its thing, you will need to restart your computer.I would do a new virus scan first, just to make sure that thing is really gone. Hope you get this fixed.

The virus is probably gone, but in mean time its destroyed your Registry which is a vital part of your computer's operating system

Clear out the virus again, make sure its gone, Then use System Restore to restore your Registry files to an EarlierDate before the virus came on board.

Go to Start, programs, Accessories, System, SYSTEM RESTORE Then on calendar pick a date before viurs entered and restore Registry to that date. Reboot and your computer should work just fine.
