I commend you for thinking of what would be best for your daughter. What is best for her is to see you and your wife model responsible adult behavior. It sounds like there is big trouble in your relationship. I suggest you two see a counselor - a neutral outsider who can help you and your wife get some perspective on your relationship and the role each of you play in it.
Showing your daughter how to solve problems (rather than quitting when things get tough) would be a very good thing for a father to do.
Best of luck!

Ok you are not telling us much here. Why is your wife so selfish and what is she doing wrong? How about the both of you going to marriage counseling and trying to work on and save your marriage? I think you seem selfish here and i do not know why you are not telling us the whole story. I would like to hear her side of the story to this.

Not all kids bounce back - it depends on how the divorce goes. Also - maybe you are being selfish? There's not enough information here to give a good judgement. Sorry.

Don't stay with your wife for your children's sake. Your children will pick up on it. Kids are smarter than you think.

you do what your heart tells you, but first sit her down and talk to her, tell her how you feel, sometimes we need a awaking to see what could happen if we dont become a better partner.as for the child she will be fine, I have been thru divorce and kids bounce back.............

There are two sides to every story. What hers? Perhaps she is thinking the same thing as you.

we do teach people how to treat us and maybe your just accepting things u shouldn't from her. but if u want to be with your kid i think maybe try some communication or some therapy, cause if u try and get rid of her she will take your kid too.

Stop thinking in terms of what is good for you and think about what is good for the relationship.

If you're not happy and there is no way you're going to be happy, then move out.
