Yesterday I asked him about what we're doing for Valentine's day, he said he forgot about it. Today I asked him again and he said "do you even want to do anything? it's just a Hallmark holiday"? We've dated/lived together for 2 years, this kind of makes me sad-but should it?

no. Why do you let other people dictate your life? By getting you upset, he's dictating how YOU live YOUR life. If he's not doing anything with you that day, then go out with your friends and have fun.

but hey.... you never know.... he might be just planning a surprise, and doesn't want to tell you that therefore he's saying all that stuff to get you kind of upset...and then SURPRISE, we're doing something for valentines day.
That could be a really good reason.

What have the two of you done on your previous Valentine's day(s) together? If he has never made it a special day for you and you never said anything to him about it, then I can understand why he would think it's no big deal . If, on the other hand, you have been disappointed on previous Valentine's days, and he knew it, then yes, I think it's normal to be sad and hurt, because he is ignoring your feelings. I think it's kind of a bummer that anyone would blow off Valentine's day- it's the only day of the year especially for lovers.

Is he loving to you on a regular basis? As long as you are in a loving relationship, I wouldn't let one little day upset you so much. But if he treats you like trash the other 364 days out of the year then there is a reason to be upset.

It don't matter if it's Valintentines day or not . You guys can go out anytime you want. Tell him you would like to do something to celebrate your love for each other. And it doesn't have to be on Valetines day, but you can still make plans if you want to!!!Good luck to ya

No one can upset you, except you. If you choose to be upset at what others do, say, or think, you will be.
