Okay so you can't marry a member of your own sex, can a Father marry his Daughter if they both consent? what about a Farmer who wants to marry his sheep and leave his estate to his sheep should he be able to?

Where does it stop? Was marraige created so anybody could marry any way they feel is appropriate for themselves?

Nice rant. And why do you people always like to compare homosexuality to incest and beastiality(heck, I'm surprised you didn't throw pedophilia in there, unless you included it in the father/daughter bit)? IMO, if they are non-related, consenting adults, they should be able to marry.

BTW, how would YOU like to be told that you can't marry the adult you are in love with, but you could still marry someone else, so quit whining about not being able to be married? I don't think you would like that, would you?

Legally people of the same sex can not get married. Have you not been following the news or any court proceeding. Are you that close minded to consider a man wanting to marry a man being the same as a man wanting to marry a sheep or his daughter? First of all I think that comparing the things you did shows that you are shaming yourself to let people know how stupid you sound.

I don't think that 2 men or 2 women marrying is the same thing as a someone marrying a sheep. That's just ridiculous to even compare the two. Why do you care if gays want to marry? It's really not your business what 2 consenting adults do.

Ah yes, the famous "slippery slope" quasi-argument.

Same-sex marriage is between only TWO unrelated people. There are no sheep involved.

Marriage = rights given by the STATE, in this country of separation of church and state. Not offering the same rights to all citizens is blatent discrimination. Religion has absolutely no say in what rights the STATE gives ALL its citizens.

I'm perfectly fine with calling same-sex unions something else, as long as you call ALL the other unions the same thing.

Why is equality, and treating everyone as you would like to be treated, such a foreign concept to some people? Perhaps they are "christians" in name only, and truly hypocrites to the core.

That is nothing but a straw-man argument.
Incest is illegal(mostly because of the issue of birth defects).
Animals cannot sign a legal contract nor give legal consent.
It "stops" when people actually face the issue instead of trying to think up excuses to justify their bigotry.

I don't understand your question. Are you hating gays? My gay friend isn't ready for marriage. But if he wanted to get married to his boyfriend he can. Maybe he's just living it up at the moment.
There are also people in my family who just live together and raise children together. They don't feel it's necessary to declare their love on a piece of paper. Marriage is just optional. Everyone is different.

I do have concerns about people marrying within the family. Their offspring has a high risk of birth defects.

up now for ballott in my state is heterosexuals must have children within three years of marrying or their marriage is null and void.
It's absurd, really, as plainly as those that have proposed it admit. It's simply to bring attention to certain elements against gay rights, which state the union of man and woman is to protect the procreation.
it's a good point, tho.

A father cannot marry his daughter. If the government allows gays to marry, we would have to change the laws for anyone to get married. That means if a pedophile wants to marry a 6 year old, he can fight to change marriage laws for age of consent. People who preform incest could fight that they could marry brothers or sisters. All marriages would have to be valid and any exclusions could base their argument on gay marriage being legal. It would change society completely. Marriage is between a man and a woman for a reason. Marriage is about preserving future generations, gays cannot make kids, so why marry?

That's just one of those touchy subjects, like theology and politics, and it kinda does go into both. The bible states that a marriage can only be between a man and a women. I have had gay friends, and supported them.
