I don't believe that anyone thinks that. I do think that lots of people believe that when violence come calling at their door that they should be prepared to defend themselves and a gun is normally the best way to do that.
Nothing you or I do will ever end violence. It is simply part of human nature. Unless you can isolate the gene or what ever that causes it and figure out a way to weed it out at conception it simply is not going to happen.
My having a gun when it does happen is just the best way to assure that my loved ones and myself are not victims of it.
It is insane to not be prepared to protect yourself and the ones you love. But that takes courage, commitment, and dedication that far too many people lack. Instead they cower behind locked doors and hope the police can make it there in time. And they often tend to make it worse by blaming the gun instead of going after the criminal that was holding it. Talk about insane....

LOL you people crack me up... you never look at the real issues... more guns will not end violence, you are right about that. HOWEVER, if you make laws that make it harder for those of us that want to be able to protect ourselves from violent people, you compound the problems.
By the way I love guns and they don't always have to be used for defense or anything other than just going to the range and poking holes in paper. Think of it as a really loud game of darts.
Have a good one hippies. Be sure to enjoy those rights that troops like myself fight for everyday on your behalf.

Violence begets more violence! I think that's the way they say it. Anyways, only by peaceful, and honest dealings, and no more guns, can there be true peace. But really only God can end all this violence. It is the heart condition that makes the person violent. Also others examples. No one can forcibly change another persons heart condition, only they can personally do it. Or God himself can do it. We need to follow the advice of the Bible when dealing with others. This way we can solve our differences. The Bible says to love your neighbor as your self. You would not hurt your self, or kill your self. We don't have to like what they personally do, but when we love a person, we can forgive them, and be peaceful with them. No More Guns!

Violence and hatred are man's evil nature.
More guns will not end it.
Less guns will not end it.

Well, we've been trying to end violence for thousands of years with bigger and better weapons. So... No. We can only end violence with education.
