You can do a "Google" search on Alice Walker. There is probably lots of information on her. You can also go to your local public library and look up a biography on her.

As for the Color Purple- it would help to read the book.

You can also research the Color Purple on line as well. Try "Googling" the Color Purple and put + book in the search line so it narrows down your choices.

There are also Cliffs Notes on the book as well.

The book is very good, as is the movie. I highly recommend both.

There are controversial topics in this work, just so you know!

Alice Malsenior Walker (born February 9, 1944) is an African-American author and feminist who received the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1983 for The Color Purple.
