Because he did'nt. It's just that people loved him so much they want to believe he is still alive somewhere.

I am not sure about anyone else, but as far as Tupac is concerned. I think his reasons could include; he wanted out of the spotlight, fame proved to be more than he could handle, he wanted a regular life. He feared for his life. People were after him, wanted him dead. If people already thought he was dead they couldn't kill him. I have heard a million other outrageous stories, but these are the only two that I feel are plausable.

it's never been proven that tupac faked his death...legally he is dead.
