Yes, yes and YES!!! Finally someone with a killie question!! LOL

You don't want fish in a can, those are usually not the best killifish around, I promise. What you really want to do (trust me, you really want to) is join the AKA (American Killifish Association) http://www.aka.org Check out the website for an idea of the benefits and know that you can order literally 100's of species of killifish from the breeder through this group. Tons of fish, fair prices, great hobbyist info from the breeders, who could ask for more?

I wouldn't say all of this if it weren't true, but for this special little fish going straight to the breeders really is the best way to go. You will find it to be well worth the dues.

I've never heard it called that but the local petstore should carry them. Killie fish are cold water or tropical fish. They can adapt to either temp, though they should be slowly acclimated. I know the Petsmart here carries them.

Yes, killifish. There are several species and they get 3". Your local pet stores may have them, but I don't think many chain pet stores like petco sell them.
