I think it is better to just accept who you are. I am a white girl. My dad is part Irish and German. My mom is part German and Cherokee Indian. I guess I AM a mixed breed. But what's funny is ... often people ask me if I'm Italian. They say I have strong Italian characteristics. It doesn't bother me. I am who I am and the thoughts other people have about my race don't particularly bother me. I'm not saying it never did. I use to get aggravated because I couldn't understand why so many people seemed so opinionated about my race. I couldn't understand why the "issue" of what race I was would come up so often. But I realized that I must have a unique look that people admire or else why would they bother. You must be beautiful and kind for so many to openly ask you about your race. Have a blessed life!

Yes, dark skin is better for practical purposes, because it means. at least historically, that you can do a lot of field work out in the sun. Although with all that skin cancer going around these days, it really doesn't matter any more.

As long as you have skin I'd say you're fine! Please do not buy into the light skinned, dark skinned controversy. For many years people have used it to pay us against one another. True people of African descent are light and dark and it comes through many generations down the line. (Yes and some of it is due to race mixing, before someone says I am being simplistic) I am VERY dark, my husband is very dark, our first born child is very light! My children range from very light to caramel to copper to molasses! I love each and every one of them. You have skin Hun, don't stress on what shade it is.

Gee..I don't know, I've always been more interested in what's inside the skin. Besides you really are stuck with what you were born with, so get over it and just be happy you don't suffer from some serious disease or worse

Well, it you want to look Black, it would be better to have darker skin.
And that's a really rare thing for Hispanics to do, since they think that no one else but themselves can understand their language, but they are also ignorant of Hispanics who cant speak Spanish. But this could enable you to do some interesting social experiments, to see how racist people are against you. I know some sociologists look for light-skinned blacks for this kind of stuff.

not that you can change it but does it really matter everybody is equal, the only difference between the two skin colours is due to evolution where the people in hotter countries have developed extra protection in the form of more pigment in the skin for protection from the sun.

Darker protects from the sun's rays, but blocks the sun so less Vit. D is made. That is why vitamin D is added to milk. (of all things) I only vaguely am aware of the many different subgroups of people. Adam, and then Noah were the father of us all.

The better skin is the one that's well-maintained and cared for and, surrounds an individual who accepts and loves themselves.

No such thing a better really. As a dark man, it's better as far as getting girls, plus I'm fine, that doesn't hurt. But also as a dark man people that arent black still grab their purses, lock their doors. I'm sure light skinned blacks get the same. i love my color though.
