subtract 2x from both sides:
You will get -4y=8-2x
Then, You will need to divide both sides by 4 in order to get the Y by itself:
-y=(8-2x)/4
Multiply both sides by (-) in order to make the y positive-!
Hope that helped~!

Subtract 2x from both sides:
-4y=-2x+8
Divide all the numbers (whether there be variables or not) by -4:
y=1/2x-2
And there you go!

I think it should look something like:
2x-4y=8
-4y=-2x+8
y=1/2x-2

First subrtract 2x from each side.
-4y=-2x+8
Then, divide each side by -4.
y=1/2x - 2
