It may be hormones but if it lasts several weeks or is really affecting your coping abilities you shold see a doctor just to be safe. If it is depression or something they can treat it or give you ways to help deal with it. If it is hormones taking care of yourself and being sure to get enough rest often takes a little of the edge off.

no, it is not normal, you may be suffering from depression. i have experienced some of the similar symptoms that you are talking about now. it would be best for you to go and talk to your doctor about it and see what they think. depression is nothing to mess around with and without medication it will not go away most likely. trust me i know, i lived with depression for 10 years thinking that it would eventually go away before i finally gave up and got help. it is not fun. everyday you feel like you don't have any energy, you don't feel like eating and other times you eat a lot, you get upset easily, you can't stand to be around people sometimes and you don't feel like there is any meaning to life just to name a few symptoms. you may not have this but you can never be too sure. nothing bad has to happen for you to get depression though bad things do cause it. it may just be due to a chemical imbalance that you have in your brain. it is not anything that a pill once daily can't fix so don't think that you will have to have major medical attention. i hope this helps you. good luck with this.

Have you gotten your first period yet? If not, I suspect that you are about to start your period. Hormones are AWFUL at your age, and these feelings are extremely common. I'll bet a lot of girls in your class are going through the same things; they're just not talking about it.
If your feelings do not go away after a long time, or if you have reason to believe that your feelings are NOT period/hormone related, then you need to talk to your parents about getting you to a doctor for a check-up.
Good luck and hope you feel better soon!

I'm very sorry that you are feeling this way.

This may be normal. You are a teenager, and your hormones are making you do things that they normally wouldn't.

On the other hand, this may not be ok. You need to talk to your mom, dad, sister, brother, or other trusted adult about your feelings. They can help.

I've been where you are. I've been in the same place. Getting help is the best thing to do.

Write down in a calendar when these feelings occur. Make a note who the person was you were speaking to. Then see your doctor and tell him or her about your feelings. They will ask you how often you feel this way and when it happens - so you need to take notes. Just do it long enough to have something to talk about with the doctor.

Please see a physician RIGHT AWAY to rule out a chemical imbalance. Your behaviors sound much like those found in folks with bi-polar problems. If it does turn out to be bi-polar, there are medications to keep it all in balance. Just don't think this will clear up by itself. Medication daily will help you deal with it if it is bi-polar problems.
