well first of all you deserve a GOOD JOB!!I'm still fighting the addiction, and I'm losing.but back to you..the mind thinks about the nicotine alot and last about 90sec a craving.try carrying a straw or a pen to keep your fingers busy.i know this sounds stupid but try it.also i use a nicotine inhaler, which helps keeping the fingers busy and the craving.it takes about 3-4 days to get through the withdraw.but you can do it..good luck!!

Congratulations on quitting!! My mom quit four years ago and she still reaches for them. Not as much as she used to, but after certain activities that you want a smoke. Just like you, on the phone, drinking coffee etc. Its just become a reflex for you. She thinks it will never go away completely.

you just used to having, them and you just reach for them. It will take a little while before you stop. it's just in your mind to reach for a cigarette. You can't do much about it, try to focus on what you are doing.

The best way is to be "scared". I am 56, started smoking at 23, stopped and started back numerous times. Last smoke I had was in 2003, and have not even thought about them. I have people in my life that I finally started thinking more about them than for myself. I have a terrible time breathing, too many more things to mention. You are hurting more than just "you" and it "WILL" surely be your death!

stay away from patches or gum. You will still be addicted to nicotine. I quit 5 years ago. Just stick to it.

It takes about a month for the habits to be completely broken. Not sure about the actual timeline though. Try smoking pot.
