The problem with English clubs are they pay more wages to the players than most of the clubs in Europe. The English local players are therefore very expensive compared to the european players. Arsene Wenger is aware of this and he constantly look out of England for cheaper and better players. Therefore, there are influx of foreign players playing in England now. The foreign players bring up the level of football in England, and that also mean sacrificing the local youth talents. Not many youth are given the opportunities to play in the Premier League and most of them usually end up in the lower league teams. However, as said, the English players are expensive and always demanding. Look at players like Beckham, Rooney and Gerard, they are all good players and they command huge wages for their clubs. They were unlike the players from the older era, where pride of the nation was more important than money. Nowadays, the players are more concern with how much their bank accounts have, and they do not have the hunger for success with the national team. And they even come out with autographs immediately after their World Cup failure. In the older days, players were paid peanuts compared to the players now, but they have the guts and hearts to play for both the club and country. Furthermore, the England FA hired and managers who are not able to win things. Sven was notable for being soft and poor management, leading to the players picking themselves instead. McClaren is Sven's crony, gutless and still using the same team he inherited from Sven. The only person he dropped was Beckham. Other than that, he has to hire Venables as his assistant. No wonder the England team is such a failure now.

The same thing is happening in the National Basketball Associayion and National Hockey League over in the United States. Because the money is the best paid in the world, talent from Europe and Asia is coming into these leagues. I think since it is professional, it should be a non-issue. If the best players in the world are in your league, that should be enough for national pride. Imagine Arsenal without Theirry Henry or Manchester United without Rinaldo.

England's national team does poorly more so because they are an overall old team. Owen, beckham, and terry are all very near the ends of their careers. wayne rooney and croutch are both very talented strikers but the phrase that pays is that games are won and lost in the mid-field.

I agree they don't give a chance for younger players to improve themselves on the pitch at their clubs. They might have incredible talent but the coaches can't see that because theyre too busy buying players from other countries. I can't belive im saying this but it's the truth, and the truth hurts.

I even have no longer something against Gerrard and he did play properly yet i'm getting aggravated once you hear Liverpool followers then telling us that it rather is evidence that Gerrard is great because of the fact he scored 2 targets against Hungary in a preseason friendly and that Rooney is rubbish because of the fact he did no longer. i think like i'm back interior the playground.
