A bib is something you put over your clothing to keep it clean. Babies wear them - usually made out of towelling. Adults wear them if they have special needs or sometimes if they are eating very messy food like spaghetti or lobster.

Hope that helps.

A bib is a piece of cloth tied around your neck, covering your chest, to keep you from dropping food all over your clothes. Used when eating something messy and always used when feeding babies.
