Basically everyone has the right to be able to feel happy inside theirselves. The thing is that people often feel and believe that happiness is impossible to pursue because of all the bummed out society and bleak judgments around you.
Well, we all know that fundamentally unhappy people like it when everyone else unhappy. There is sort of like a bitterness in unhappy people when they see someone is happy. People always get hurt inside their soul the most when they see there is a happiness around them. Misery loves company. This kind of thought really affecting and damaging gradually other's happiness and fulfillments.

I'll give you the bottom line answer: Yes. When you are happy, your brain carries out a chemical dump of endorphins (the feel good stuff that drugs activate). If you suffer from depression, this may have an affect on how you "feel". That's why antidepressants are so popular. They increase certain endorphins in your body, whether its dopamine, seratonin, norepinephrin, etc.

When you are happy, you are happy with yourself and where you're at in the present moment. You're not regretting the past or worrying about the future. This doesn't mean you're not making plans or goals; you're just satisfied. Being happy doesn't mean that you're floating around on clouds or feel bubbly and elated all the time. It means there's no inner conflicts or negative self talk going on. It means you sleep well at night and you look forward to getting up in the mornings.
