about how old were most of the patrons in the book and movie? what do you think the chairman's age was? did most geishas have older danas?

Most of the patrons were about 28 or more (in the movie) in the book it was 30 or so.
chairman was about 50 at the end of the movie, 60 in the bool
geishas were about 16 when they lost their virginity
and it was most likely they had older danas because geishas were expensive to care for and the geishas tend to be quite young.Usually younger than 30

I saw the movie a few months ago and I really enjoyed it. I am not sure of the ages of the geishas or the chairman, but now you have me curious ;)

patrons were old man, like in the late 30's to old...Chairman was probably in his 50's when they finally got together. They did have older danas.

considering that geishas catered to powerful men...and power *generally* takes time to aquire, Id say 35+.
In history, its not uncommon for a significantly older gentleman to have a wife, mistress, courtesan, geisha, call-girl (u pick) that was DECADES younger.
in the movie it seemed they ranged from about 35 at the youngest to 70 possibly older.
