This is a question psychologists have studied for a long time. It seems that the better looking (and taller) people seem to be , the better people BELIEVE they are. In tests, it has been clearly demonstrated that we are all drawn to the most attractive person around. Less attractive people may be performing at or above the level of more attractive peolple, but few people notice.
The effect of this does lessen the performance of some, uninformed, lesser attractive people. The word is still out on whether this inproves the performance of more attractive people because the BELIEF of superiority may cause some people to stop striving to achieve greater performance results.

Good looking people are judged more generously by others. And there are certainly jobs that only good looking people qualify for. All the approval attractive people receive before they even do anything can certainly contribute to self confidence. On the other hand attractive people can often get the feeling that they are being used and have trouble being taken seriously. Being unattractive in many ways is a handicap and people who overcome it can be confident that their success was earned. Eleanor Roosevelt was probably fortunate that she wasn't pretty. Not being distracted by suitors and movie offers left her free to pursue things she was really interested in. A lot of people think Barbra Streisand is not good looking but no one would question that she's a great performer.

Some what this is true. If you think the way you look is controlling your self esteem then loOK good. If you are happy the way you are don't change for anyone. Stay yourself if it's ok wit you.
