Just remember that rolls, backward or frontward are really safe. I've never seen anyone get hurt, even people who have never tried them in their life! sure they didn't succeed the first time....but they didn't get hurt at all. You're on the ground so its not like a flip...where you could fall. Try watching this video off youtube.

The very worst that could happen is that your roll could go sideways instead of in a straight line and you sorta fall over. Which is what happens during the girl's third roll in the video. But as you can see, she gets up again and is fine. This will probably happen the first few times you try but you'll get better the more you practice. It might look as if you could hurt your neck somehow.....but I've never seen it happen to anyone. And you'll be under the supervision of your teacher the whole time, so she'll be there to help out. Good luck!

Maybe you're afraid of hurting yourself. Do you know the right way to do a roll? Maybe you can ask a friend in dance class to help teach you the right way.

Believe in yourself. I do Indian Dancing and I was very scared to do one step which is shaking your hips and so what I did is just believed that I can do it!!
