China has certain problems which will inevitably limit its growth. They have to embrace capitalist ideals across the country and they have to allow democracy to surface.

Do you mean military?

China has a defence pact with Russia and both nations are nuclear powers and well armed. China has just proven it can destroy satellites, which now gives it the ability to blind America and stop the US technology advantage.

China has a much larger ground force too. Plus America have a terrible track record and are currently being badly harmed by a civilian insurgency in a weak Middle Eastern nation!!

If you mean economy wise, then China wins. They currently have a greater reserve of US Dollars than America. The US is in a serious debt situation and is really heading for an economic crash.

It depends where it is... If we're talking about a war in Korea or Taiwan, then probably China will win. They've got endless manpower, and very short supply lines in that situation. They are also willing to accept casualties in the millions...

China doesn't have any capability to invade anyplace in North America, so the US would smash them in that situation.

economics wise... man power is the greatest asset of a country... but chinese are scattered all over just like americans... but since most of the manufacturing is done in china they produce a lot... but this products are owned by around 50% of the americans companies.... i see china is the worst affected by globalization coz of the western companies invasion... say example... how can a local shoe company sell a thousand soes made in china against a thousand nike's made in china? i see china a major consumer coz of thier sheer size but not a producer... with this a go for U.S. in terms of economics... and besideds china's yuan is not floating good...
