I think he is a tweener he fued with both heels and faces so he is in between.

During the third half of the Angle/Joe feud, I think Angle was very heel. Let's look at the evidence.
1.He spent a whole Impact beating up anyone within reaching distance, including the very Face Eric Young and Don West.
2. He got Joe to conform to the match idea by threatening to break his wife's ankle, and after he got the match, he still locked in his patented submission.
3. Unkayfabe, he's acted very irrational backstage. More fans worry about him than boo him lately. He's made outlandish claims on the radio like, "Chris Sabin should be put in a Pig Pen Gimmick" and "TNA's made better ratings than Raw and Smackdown combined" I'd say to the casual smark and the wrestling community, he's very heel right now. I don't think anyone hates him, I just think they worry about his mental well being.
Right now, I don't see Angle as anything. He's very tweener in my eyes. I'm sure people will cheer him when he goes against Christian Cage at this month's ppv, but I know the TNA loyals will want to see Joe get retribution after Angle wins the title.

TNA seems to have two entrences and one is used by faces with the other used by heels. Kurt keeps coming out through what seems to be the face entrence, so thats the best I can explain it.

i think at the start he was planned to be pushed as a heel but then fans cheered him cause he left WWE so they made him face.
