What annoyance bothers you the most when you go out to the movies? Talking patrons? Cell phones going off? People kicking your seat?

Mine is moms who bring their unruly kids to movies that are clearly inappropriate for children and then can't control them when the film starts. Like the mom who brought her two kids to Saving Private Ryan. Or the mom who brought half a row of kids to Black and White. Don't remember that movie? It's about white kids infatuated with hip hop culture. It starts out with an explicit three way sex scene in the park. Perfect viewing for children, eh?

When you said kicking seats, that reminded me of a particularly repulsive experience I once had at a movie theater. I was taking my younger brother and sister to see a Harry Potter movie, and right after we sat down before the movie, this huge smelly guy picked a seat right behind us and sat down. Well his seat was a good foot higher than ours, and when he sat down, his (ahem) "lap" was right at eye level for me. I think I'd have been able to see up his shorts if I'd turned around; which is why I didn't. And he smelled like crotch! Why was an old smelly guy at a Harry Potter movie anyway?

I can't stand any of the ones you have mentioned, but Cellphones and especially people talking on them during the movie annoys me to no end.
Same with crying infants...grr..
Then there are the seat kickers and tall people. If that happens I usually try to move if anyway possible.
Going to the movies has become less and less enjoyable, I usually wait til the DVD is out nowadays.
If I really, really want to watch the movie , I try to chose times where not many people are going to be seeing it. For example a matinee, or a Monday afternoon/evening.

My biggest pet peeve are fights! That happened to me when I went to go see SAW III. They stopped the movie and we had to wait 30 min until the police got done with questioning people!

Oh yeah, and I know where you are coming from when a mother brings her child to see Saving Private Ryan. That made me so angry. She finally left after the beach scene. Go figure.

I only take my 4 yr old to animated movies. Sorry to upset any of you. I will apologize on my behalf.

First off, cellphones that are on with the lights going...I can not concentrate on the screen. Or ringing and someone talking outloud.

As to the babies in movies...most of the time I took mine with me because it had not to do with the babysitter it was a kid movie...but there were a few instances where the movies was not a kid one and they went anyway.....as infants....they had snack and drink and actually wached the movies....I know my kids are unusual in that tone.

I also do not like it when people come in and see you with your family there and sit down with the tallest person in front of your child who obviously won't get to see the movie thru the big head in front of them.

Lately I've been having problems with mothers bringing their babies with them to the movies. One woman brought her infant to The Blood Diamond. The baby wouldn't stop crying. Then I went to see The Pursuit of Happiness and not only did a mother bring her baby, she brought two unruly youngsters who spent the whole movie running up and down the stairs. If I was heartless, I would've tripped them when they were running down the aisle close to me.

Just Movies?
Sorry, but on a limited budget. I'd (single parent) take my (then young 5 & 6 or 6&7) out to a dinner (bday) and when other kids ran up down the place....stuck out my foot and tripped them. When their parents looked at me, when they started crying, I'd say...Oops, well, this isn't the Mcdonalds playground. My kids never did such things...if NOT just because of that.

people kicking the seat and talking annoys me. i had went to the movies once. i was watching harry potter and the goblet of fire. there was this girl in the seat behind that was afraid and was singing to herself. her little sister kept on telling her to be quite. i was ready to scream at the parent. the movie is rated pg-13 for a reason. and the parent should have taken the girl out of the movie if she was really that afraid out of consideration for the people around them.

I agree with you about the kids but that is not as bad as babies. Why the hell are babies there? They can't enjoy the movie. The parents are too cheap to get a babysitter. I say NO FREAKING BABIES ALLOWED!!!!

But the worst thing is people who let their phones ring. They don't push the button to make it go to voice mail. Just horrible.

when people next to you laugh at every thing obnoxiously and i cant stand kids either. But the worst is when someone is on thier phone and when people predict every scene in a movie, i hate it but my friend does it all the time.
