Yes, I have the Disabled Parking Tags .. and I need them. I am a Disabled Veteran, the survivor of a short disaster of a marriage (to a violent, abusive ex), and now I've just broken more bones in my body once again (broke near the places where previous bones were broken).

So for me, I need the space to not just get in my car, but with my difficulty walking (even without more broken bones), I can use the little bit of convenience that this has with it.

Yes, I have a handicapped sign. I have severe achilles tendonitis and plantar fasciitis. That means the tendons at the backs of my ankles and the ones across the bottom of my feet are inflamed and extremely painful - and it's worse the more I walk in a given day, or over a few days. Additionally, I have severe back pain. I use the placard places where I have to carry a lot, or where I would have to park so far away that it would cause me severe pain.

The only purpose of a handicapped placard IS in fact to be able to park in handicapped parking. So, in a sense, anyone who gets one is "just in it for the parking." But I'm sure what you mean is, did we get it fraudulently, when we don't really need it. You have to get a doctor to sign the form in order to get the placard in the first place, so anyone who has one has proven that they do in fact have medical need for it. I find the assumption that those of us who have gotten the placard are just lazy or trying to cheat the system to be wrong and frankly insulting. Hope you found this enlightening.

YES I DO.
1. I HAVE TO CARRY AN "E" TANK OF OXYGEN EVERYPLACE I GO JUST TO BREATH.
2. I AM NOT ABLE TO WALK MORE THAN 200 FEET IF THAT MUCH DUE TO BAD LUNGS, AND HERNIATED DISKS IN BACK.
3. I HATE IT WHEN ABLE BODIED IDIOTS PARK IN THE HANDICAP PARKING AT THE SAFEWAY STORE IN MY HOMETOWN JUST TO FILL THEIR WATER BOTTLES FROM THE REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER MACHINE, JUST CAUSE IT IS CONVENIENT TO THE MACHINE AND THE BOTTLES ARE HEAVY! PUT THEM IN JAIL FOR 2 YEARS THE FIRST TIME!
4. THIS IS A GOOD QUESTION TO GET ME MAD!

yes.I have a placard. I have rheumatoid arthritis and it impairs my ability to walk long distances without help.

I do not use the placard at work because I am not carrying much stuff with me. I do use it at the airport an grocery store because bag handling is difficult for me.

I would gladly trade the placard for a healthy body free of this disease.

I don't, but my mother did until she passed away. At her funeral several of the family asked if they could have the sign. I gave the insensitive lazy jerks a sign; a single finger salute of sorts. BTW they were all fat. No surprise how they got that way.
