I would really focus on speed and agility. They say curls for the girls for a reason arm strength does not help you in football at all. If you want to lift I would recommend focusing on the legs chest and back with some arms so you don't look weird. Being young and small they put you at wide reciever until you grow into your body heck I was a reciever my freshman year and as a senior I was the starting right tackle so where they put you now has no emphases on where you will play in the future

make sure you work on your upper body too. in most high school offenses, it is more common to see a running play than a pass. an average reciever that can block well can easily be a #2 or tight end. if you have access to a weight bench or a similar machine, work on it. most high school dbs are under 150 poulds, so if you can bench that much you should be able to block well. see if you can get with a lineman to work on hand placement and footwork. our o-linemen coach believes that anyone can block anyone else if their footwork is good enough.also work at catching the ball with your hands. too many players try to catch it against their chest and have it boune off their pads. it obviously helps to run alot too. try running while carrying weights or walk along a smooth floor with a rubber mat that's weighed down to increase leg stregnth

If u wanna be a WR then you should definetly be well conditioned..run ALOT...catching usually comes natural as long as you catch with ur hands and not ur body...but as a receiver running is the most important and remembering your plays....to get prepared though i would say just run as much as possible

if you are a little fast already try to work on agility get a cone and try to get the hook pattern down to a science also work on your endurance every play they are going to make you run so you dont want to get tired easily i mean run alot cause if you dont have upper body strngth you need to be fast and common sense is to try to be best friends with the QB you guys gotta be on the same page and can almost read each others mind and tell him if you like the ball low, right in your chest, or high those things make a difference

Lift. Thats one thing that will help you a lot. It's imporant to run a lot to build up speed, but you want to have upper body strength, so that when you catch the ball and a second later you get nailed by a linebacker you dont drop the ball. Build up leg strength by doing stairs. If you know somebody who is going to be trying out for QB then you should ask them to practice with you. Run routes and him throw the ball to you. It will be good practice for your, for your route running, and good practice for him, for his throwing.

Workout at a gym like Parisis and get better hands. Also, you should try to play with the starting QB.
