What did people wear in the 80's?

hi, Im in an 80's themed singing competition, what could I wear to really make a loud statement? thanks

I went to high school in the early eighties, and here is what i recall wearing;

Guess jean jacket and guess jeans
sleeveless zebra print shirt
sleeveless neon Nike vest
Maui and Sons shirts
OP (Ocean Pacific) shirts and courduroy shorts
hooded long sleeve cotton surf shirts
Vans
Rock Jerseys - Judas Priest, Pat Benatar, the Police
Levis 501 Jeans, button fly

watch the movie "she's having a baby" great 80's music and there is a seen in there that was shot a the Chicago club called the Limelite and is now called xcaliber, but if you look at what everyone is wearing ,(the whole movie) you will get some pretty good ideas. also watch pretty in pink. GOD I MISS TEH 80'S!!!!!

ugly, tacky bright colors, shoulder pads, leg warmers, huge hair or that side ponytail, and loud over-done makeup

Well...I had these pants called parachute pants that were like huge! When I think of the 80s, I will always remember those pants.

I wore a leather jacket with fringe going down the arms .. Im 5'4" but with my hair teased up I was 6' oh and leg warmers.....What was I thinking

we did that for spirit week! Big hair lots of makeup! spandex, off the sholder long shirts, stilletos with legwarmers over them!

There is no discernible difference between how people dressed in the '80's and how they dress today other than gangsta rap dress is more prevalent than it was back then.
