People don't realize their accent because they grow up hearing it all the time..when we hear another one, we are not used to it, and it sounds strange.

Everyone has an accent, but you mostly do not hear it where you live because you grew up learning to speak a certain way, incorporating the sounds you hear to use in how you talk.
For languages other than your own, you will always sound different because you never learnt from birth how to properly form the sounds in, say, Tagalog or Spanish, and so you always keep a large part of your English pronounciation in what you say.

I can't explain this at all, I realise...

My accent became more obvious to me when I moved from Florida to New York City. It's very obvious to me when I try to speak a foreign language. But at home, I just sound like everyone else. I guess it's like the idea that fish don't know they're wet.

People who have strong accents are usually aware of it as are others. People who have slight accents don't usually notice it and other usually don't notice it either.

People don't realize that they have accents. If they know that you do, then you know that they do. Everybody's accent is different in different countries. They just don't realize it. They just think that you do.

When I am tired or angry I go South, the sound of words flow slow and sound so different for LA. I love it that I bring out my roots in passion and others just know she is taking slow and that means listen cause if I don't I will in no way know what the heck she just said.

Do I try to change NO I just being me, pay me no attention!!!!!
