it seems to me back in the day smoking the peace pipe gave peace
should we not try it again with the leaders of their country

to offer the Chanupa (peace pipe) to an outsider was rare in Native culture, and was considered a great honor to the person that it was offered to. the Chanupa is sacred and should not be handles by people that do not respect the ways of Wakan Tanka(the great spirit).
the pipe will not make peace, only strengthen the bond between peacful peoples. if the people are not at peace then lighting the pipe will do no good. and may defile the pipe.
