When was the last time you looked up and noticed the spy cameras, they are everywhere. And what laws will be introduced soon?,...Thought crime....Face crime, and isnt the war on terror, very like the concept of"perpetual war" in 1984,think about it

People confuse what we have as democracy. It is only a partial democracy where about 59% of the people are dissatisfied most of the time. After that idiot elections when Blair was returned, I asked friends and workmates why they voted labour and they all said its because Brown introduced Working and Child Tax Credits and they were worried that the Conservatives will scrap it.
I have to point out that the Tax credits are only a partial rebate for the Tax Allowances that Brown scrapped in the first place and if the Tories scrap the Tax credits they were bound to replace it with something else. But in the end it was more our selfish bellies than a million foreign lives. Live with it people. PS I did not vote labour.

It doesn't really work, but is preferable to many alternatives and is certainly an ideal to strive for.
perhaps if everyone was born to good parents, and had a nequal start in life, people would be more attuned to the democratic spirit...but if you are raised in a religion or society preaching inflexible rules and intolerance, or brought up carelessly, I suppose you might not even be able to spell democracy, let alone endorse it!
Perhaps the problem with the blair situation is that we do not have enough democracy. The voting system is undemocratic, and big decisions are still taken bya few individuals. So it is not that democracy is insufficient, but that we suffer an insufficiency OF democracy!

No it doesn't! Perhaps that is why GB nor the US ARE A DEMOCRACY! We are a Representative Republic! In fact, there isn't a true democracy in the world!
It should matter as our form of government was set up to protect the minority against the Majority. Majority rule would be a disaster and that is why California is in such financial trouble, their idiotic propositions!

People are always looking for systems to solve problems, but tell me this, what system is full proof? Would you live under a bad government running a democracy or the most thoughtful, compassionate and brilliant person ever running a dictatorship?
The watch can't rule the watchmaker. Self discipline is the key, and realising that systems are only tools. The cause is linked to the effect and similar in nature to the effect - just as fire leads to fire... lies, violence, greed will lead to... lies, violence and greed, regardless of the system.

Democracy works maximum suitable societies that fee individuality like ours. which does no longer make it the main suitable. In cultures that fee nationalism (china), communism works maximum suitable. In societies that fee spirituality (iran) theocracy works maximum suitable (besides the certainty that iran is kinda undesirable at it). the only authentic democracy interior the worldwide is Switzerland, the place regulations are surpassed whilst a petition for a definite regulation effective properties X volume of signatures. for specific, in small international locations like switzerland, it works splendidly. although in a large united states of america of thousands of tens of millions of individuals, like the US, democracy is ineffective and undecisive. regrettably a democratic republic is the main suitable device we've arise with so far. nevertheless extra effective than a dictatorship. Communism is extra efficient in concept, disasterous in prepare. And surprisingly lots another form of government is a dictatorship in one form or yet another.

Democracy chose the leader to make the decisions. Look at the USA the greatest nation in the world, built on democracy. You will be wishing for Blair back when you elect a liberal leader and the muslims take over.

The democracy works but there is a kind of late.
For the next elections, blair will understand democracy. It's how it works.

Only when it is practiced within reason with moral baring! Would you support legislation for example that would give pedophiles ad sexual addicts the right to do as they please because their are more supporters that would vote for it. I don't think so. Would you support another Pol Pot Idi Amin or a Stalin by democratic process? If good people sit back and do nothing that is what could happen by democratic processess. What a tragedy

It seems to work the same way here. Bush lied to get support. Bush lied about winning the war. Bush lied about a civil war in Iraq. Bush has lied about almost everything, and still he wants to send more troops in harms way. If he does, he should physically lead them and see what lack of armor is all about.
