I have made reservations for a room at Paris in Las Vegas, but have never stayed in that hotel before. Does anyone have any tips or hints about the rooms? I'm not a gambler, so I don't expect any comps, but do I have any leeway in requesting certain areas or where the room should be? Do they have non-smoking floors? Good views? I could use any hints you may have. Thanks so much!

I stayed at the Paris the last trip to Vegas in December 06. When you check in ask for a non-smoking room, if that's what you want and a King bed, and also ask for a high floor with a view. If they are not booked solid or crowded they will try to give you what you request. You will not get an upgrade to a suite, but they will try to accommodate you. You do know when you book your room you can also ask for non-smoking at that time.

The hotel room we got was really nice. Besides the king bed it had a love seat as well as another easy chair. It had a huge, like maybe 42 inch, flat panel TV. The bathroom was nice and had a shower stall seperate from the tub.

Regardless of whether you are a big gambler go immediately to the player's club desk and get a card. Use it whenever you play the slots (or tables) in Paris (you can use the same card in Ballys and Flamingo) so that you accumulate points for your play. You may not earn enough points for a free room this time, but next time you go, and if you want to stay a Paris again, call the number on the back of the card to make room reservations. They will probably give you a reduced rate.

If you are not a big gambler, play the penny slots which require 15 to 30 cents per play to cover all of the lines. You can get lucky on them and win some money.

I stayed at the Paris two months ago, and I doubt you'll have any complaints. It's very nice. Every hotel in Vegas I've stayed at asks if you want non-smoking, and you can request a Strip view if you want, but it's really not necessary. You won't spend that much time in the room! I especially liked the Napoleon lounge with "dueling pianos", and the breakfast at the Le Cafe Ile St. Louis was even better eaten at the "outdoor" patio inside the casino. Nice people watching, great service.

Be sure to have the breakfast buffet at the Paris. It is the best breakfast in Las Vegas in my opinion.
You can play cheaper if you go down to the old strip downtown and they also have cheap steak dinners. There is a place across the street from Bally's which has a cheap steak dinner, can't remember the name, but it is an older casino.
Near the Aladdin in front of the Hawaiian Marketplace that is in front of the Polo Towers is a half price ticket booth where you can buy tickets to the shows for half price the morning of the show. The booth opens up at 11 AM.

Most of the hotels offer views of the strip. When you check in, ask if they have any rooms with a view available. When we went to Las Vegas last year, they upgraded our room for free. All you can do is ask.

Do some searching online to find out about Paris. Most sites offer reviews and tips. Check out what people have to say about the hotel and it should give you a feel for how willing they are going to be at accomodating any requests you may have.

basically uoi're gonna get whatever they give you...yo can get a non smoking room...and you may have a choice of if the room has 2 twin beds or 1 queen...but that's as far as your choices go....especially if you purchaased your reservation through an online site....you're not really going to get any comps from the aladin anyways....you can get them at the smaller casinos, but unless you're playing in the high rollers room at the casino...you should be happy to get your free drinks for gambeling...lol but you don't gambel anyways so you'll be paying for your drinks.....you might as well post yourself at a nickle or quarter slot machiene or video poker machiene....because if you're gambeling...the alcohol is free...just tip the waitress....whatever you loose...oh well...you would have spent on alcohol anyways if you wanted to drink...but buying drinks from the bar will never make you money like ordering you drinks from a machiene will.

If you decide to gamble, play poker. At least you have some management potential there, not all chance.
