my friend asked me this question and even though I have had three babies, I can't for the life of me remember - When you are pregnant is your urine dark in color or light?
She may be pregnant and was wondering, but I can't remember. And when does the color change?

That is something I didn't pay attention to, and I thought maybe some of you that were pregnant now could answer it for me!
Thanks!

color change is due to how concentrated usually... not limited to pregnancy though....
darker happens you need more fluids... lighter it is, the better...
darker while pregnant could be because of how often we have to run to the restroom... lol... and we are not drinking enough extra water to compensate ...

that is the only time (pregnant or otherwise) that I have seen/known....

if she is concerned, she should ask the dr. just to be on the safe side....

hope this helps
good luck

The color of urine varies just as much during pregnancy as they do when someone isn't pregnant. It has to do with how many extra vitamins one's body has to get rid of. Or if you eat or drink a lot of something dark in color- I had a sunkist craving for the last 3 months, so mine was dark a lot of the time. Good luck!

It depends on how much water you are drinking and it also may become darker due to prenatal vitamins. Urine color isn't generally affected by pregnancy. If your urine is dark, pregnant or not, it generally means you aren't taking in enough water.

Your prenatals can change the color of it, and so will the amount of water your taking in, and even some foods.
Just make sure it's not strong smelling, or really dark, or even bright. It can mean a couple things dehydration or an infection. Have her check with her doctor if she's not sure.

There's something in prenatal vitamins that can turn urine more yellow (I forget what). Dark concentrated urine with a strong smell is a sign of dehydration.

I find that mine is dark because of the prenatal vitamins.

If she thinks she might be pregnant, the only way to know for sure is to take a pregnancy test.

Chances are that in public and in school there will be more than one Michael anyway; so people (teachers in particular) generally appreciate a nickname. Mack is unique and I don't think its too potentially "hazardous". What I mean by that is other kids don't have too many things that they could combine mack with to make it an insult.

Personally i noticed mine is a bit darker - nothing to concern myself about, and its definately not from lack of fluids (i drink alot of water in a day) - i think its from my prenatal vitamins.

my urine is darker in the morning after i take my prenatal....but if i am adequately hydrating myself my urine is light....if it's really dark it could signify a bladder infection
