Ooopps...that plan was already tried by Saddam against the US(which militarily toasted IRAQ in about 5 minutes time).
But we will NEVER win the hearts of a society or culture who has no use for democracy, equal rights, or law implemented to make all people accountable.
I have had friends from both Iran and Iraq at school. They both state the place(s) suck to no end, and they are very glad to be in America.

they don't need to do that, just in case you missed or don't understand the news, they just demonstrated to us they they can sink our tankers in the persian strait at will, one or two ships sunk and your fragile oil supply is in shambles and you be paying $20 for a gallon of gas, that is if you can find any.

Translated- what Iran is REALLY saying, is for our president to "butt out & mind his own business". Most Iranians actually LIKE the American people- they just think G.W. is a jerk. I wonder WHERE they get THAT idea from..?
