What does "inspite" mean?
Sexual preference is genetic, not something one is socialized into or taught. So one does not "become" gay, they are born that way.

What rock did you just crawl along with a couple of others here?
you don't just turn gay.......You know your gay when your very young because your born gay.
Ask the millions of men who are really gay and are confident with being who they are......and are not just playing a game
By the way many men have femals as friends and are not gay
You get your info from some crazy source that has no proof

There's some research that linked it to hormone levels around the fourth month of prenatal development. It might have to do with being exposed to female hormones in contaminated food or water before birth, or low levels of male hormones at that time. The fourth month is when the part of the brain governing sexual preference develops, apparently.
In other words, it has nothing to do with anything that happens after birth; parenting, society, education, or the "number of girls around".

I think that's a good question: is it chemical inclination? is it the way they're brought up? is it related to an early childhood experience? is it caused by a chemical or structure of the brain? is it a temptation for others to a lesser extent? can it be controlled or induced?
Anyone who tells you the answer to your question with confidence has no idea what they're talking about, even if they say, 'Trust me, I know, I'm gay' or 'I have gay friends'.
Gay guys tend to be shunned by other guys, whereas girls tend to be accepting and open. Plus, they stereotypically have similar interests (men, for one), common interest and experience tends to bring people together. It's not so much that they BECOME gay IN SPITE of anything.

Because you are born gay. Your environment has absolutely nothing to do with whether you are gay or straight.

being gay doesnt really have anything to do with the enviroment you are in, it is who you are...Maybe they have girls around because they can relate better to them than to straight guys...

maybe because the girls become uninteresting after being around them so much, or the guy was gay all-along and didn't realize it

It's not environment, it's nature. Most gay men of...umm..a certain hottness level?...Anyway, they have hot *** fag-hags. Those are they gay boys' crew. Uglier men have fat fag hags. It's just hard to watch honestly.
