I have a tendency to bottle up emotions, I simply don't see how telling someone would help, so I just want to know if it helps others.

I have a tendency to the same exact thing (I'm always smiling and happy looking but I keep a lot of stuff in) and my friends call me out on it all the time. If you don't feel comfortable telling one person about something, spread it amongst your friends. What I mean is...all my friends don't need to know ALL my business but it does make me feel better when I'm feeling upset/sad/etc to talk to someone about it.

YES!!! The reason is because humans are not meant to be alone in this world, so if you have some one to talk about anything especially if you have a problem the you can get there point of view and with that opinion, you will get or at least help you make a decision

As much as I like to verbalize to others problems when Im emotionally upset, you raise a good point, because sometimes I do feel better at the time talking about it, but in retrospectl, sometime its better if you suffer in silence, instead of talking about the negative situation over and over. I dont think it really helps solve the ultimate matter itself.

It defiantly helps, but if your not one to talk to others then do it in your car or when your at home and have the music blarring, just getting it out relieves so much. don't let your inner energy go to waste by holding things in.

yes it helps, but you have to have a certain someone you confide in, maybe a couple certain someones. Not everyone can help or is a good listener, and it is nice to talk to someone and have them listen to you when you are upset or hurting

i bottle up my emotions too, and i dont think talking about it helps me

i think its because something bad happened in the past, that we dont want to talk about, so consequently, we dont talk about any other emotions

Telling someone about your problems releases you from stress. Whether they are paying attention or not just saying it makes you rest.

It does. When the time comes, you'll understand. It's something you will only learn when you ask yourself. But yes.
