I live on a very rough country lane and need a vehicle with a lot of road clearance. I don't want a big fuel guzzler but need something stylish for my work with easily accessible space for my bicycle. I want something small and don't need space for more than one passenger. It's important for me to have a vehicle that is comfortable and modern but not flashy.

Suzuki jeep there cheap to buy, insure and run and they will pull a house down. I used to have great fun with mine it pulled my Moto X bike everywhere. It never once got stuck i have seen Landrovers and all kind of mega bucks 4by4s getting stuck my jeep just used to sink in the ground and go even when pulling mine and my brothers 250cc Crossers on the trailer with all the other kit we had in the back i sold it to a guy like you who wanted it for his moutain biking and he loves it. I wish i had never sold it

The military HMMWV (Highly Mobile Multi Wheeled Vehicle) is a relative all purpose, nearly all terrain vehicle which seats 4, plus a turret gunner, plus gear, that can be Up Armored with a few thousand pounds of metal. The Jeep is a good 4wd and thats where the comparison stops. The largest consumer of energy in the United States is the US Air Force. However, the AF also makes tremendous leaps in attempts to save energy and fuel. My base diesel vehicles are all 100% Bio Diesel. In case you didn't know, HMMWV's in the military run on diesel.

Suzuki SX4 has full time 4 wheel drive. It is a compact 4 door sedan. Supposedly gets 30 mpg on the highway. Pretty cheap too. Maybe under $15,000.
