Just wonderign, i'd prolyl give more to someone who is by him/herself, than to a group.

I would tend to give to a single performer unless the group was really good.

I would NEVER give them anything.... If I want entertainment I go home and watch tv.
No one gets money from me in public... Especially beggars.

I would give it to someone by themselves, because what if the group wasn't asking for money, and you insult them by giving them your pocket change?
