"I can confirm that she is deceased. It's as shocking to me as to you guys," Smith's attorney, Ronald Rale, told Reuters. "I don't know anything further. (Her lawyer and husband) Howard (K. Stern) obviously is speechless and grieving."
Seminole tribal fire rescue and Hollywood fire rescue workers tried to revive her at her hotel, said Michael Bloom, president of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
She was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood at 2:10 p.m. and died there, police said. She was 39 years old!

i am truly shocked! there is small consolation that she may be with her son now, she mourned him so deeply. i understand society's impulse to attack, but i believe that we should forgive all misdeeds of life in death. she just has not been "herself" since daniel died. she always had a media strength and exuberance that shined through everything. it seemed that something significant within her died with him. i hope she is at peace. my deepest sympathies go out to mr. stern and danilynn. it was clear through the recent interviews that he cared deeply for her with all of his efforts (however futile) to protect her in the recent media blitz over her children and personal tragedies.

She collapsed in her hotel room earlier today. Her bodyguard found her in her hotel room about an hour before she was pronounced dead and tried to give her CPR. Yeah she was flighty, But I believe she tried to turn her life around.

No autopsy until tomorrow. But she collapsed in her hotel room earlier today.

She died by an unknown cause at 2:49 today. Sad, really...especially for her baby daughter...

people on yahoo answers are being so rude. Yea, I DO feel bad she died, Yea it was a shock to me, and Yea I do care about your average joe that dies when they show them on tv!!! Why are people rude!? Some people have drug/alcohol problems, does that mean they should die!?? Have some respect!!!

it happened today,or at least they found her body today, at the seminole hardrock casino in hollywood, fl.
