Good grief, no! Republicans were completely fooled by him-and now by GW using many of the same techniques!
A frequent objection by his critics was that his personal charm also permitted him to say nearly anything and yet prevail, a quality that earned him the nickname "The Teflon President" (nothing sticks to him). His denial of awareness of the Iran-Contra scandal belied his signing a secret presidential "finding" describing the deal as "arms-for-hostages". He said one thing and did something completely different and no one noticed!
In order to cover Reagan' federal budget deficits, the United States borrowed heavily both domestically and abroad, and by the end of Reagan's second term the national debt held by the public rose from 26 percent of Gross Domestic Product in 1980 to 41 percent in 1989, the highest level since 1963. By 1988, the debt totaled $2.6 trillion. The country owed more to foreigners than it was owed, and the United States moved from being the world's largest international creditor to the world's largest debtor nation
The deregulation of the banking industry before Reagan took office, meant savings and loan associations were given the flexibility to invest their depositors' funds in commercial real estate. Many savings and loan associations began making risky investments. As a result, the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, the federal agency that regulates the industry, tried to clamp down on the trend. In so doing, however, the Board clashed with the policy of permitting the deregulation of many industries, including the thrift industry. The resulting savings and loan scandal bailout ultimately cost the government $150 billion.
Remember Neil Bush-brother to GW?
I could go on and on but I'm sure many of you will blindly bow to him.

Your question depends on who you are asking if you are asking those who benefited from his supply-side theories, trickle - down economies, giving huges tax cuts to the rich and the super rich thinking or hoping that they are going to give some of their wealth to the poor so that they could buy the house that they always wanted or so that they could put more food on the table so they could feed their families and the corporations that he give money to from the massive budget cuts in social programs that he inflicted which alot of them were good, the majority of them will tell you yes, but if you are the average person that has to get up to go to work so that you could pay the rent and put food on the table and try to make your money last as long as you can upto next payday no , he definetly was not the best president of the 20 century.

We have Reagan to thank for the strong military that we have today, he spent billions of dollars on defense. The spending also created a lot of jobs here in california.

It scares me that we elected a president with Alzheimers before he went into office. No, I do not think he was the best president. Really, the only reason he was elected was the same reason Arnold was elected; he was a popular, good-looking, well-known celebrity.

No. He was a nice old man, who ran the country by autopilot, told a few funny jokes- and almost bankrupted us with debt. We also saw more American Soldiers die under his command since R. Nixon (and until G.W. Bush). He was a "B grade" actor who played the part of President- and we bought it. Personally, I liked the guy too...-I just wish we hadn't caught Alzheimer's before HE did.

He busted Unions, workers only way to deal with big businesses fairly.
He took away our Constitutional Rights,In which Millions died to give us.
He gave us crack cocaine, with abundance of covert military plane loads of coke into this country. To support the Iran-Contra,arms for drugs. The Mena Incident.
Well,I don't recall, his saying,God made his deception for real.Ye shall reap what thy sow.Just deserts as I see it.Predecessor to the Nazi regime we have now.
