It's not how can you make eating out less fattening, it's all about how you can exercise more so you won't have to worry about eating too much of the fattening foods.

Choose items that are better for you - like salads, chicken and fish. No creamy sauces, bread, french fries, etc.

Instead of sides like fries or mashed potatoes, choose fresh veggies or fruit.

And put half of your meal in a to go box before you start eating. That way you won't be tempted to eat more than you should. I know I am always tempted to finish everything on my plate, but if it's already put away I won't. Decide how much you are going to eat BEFORE the meal. This will save you money too!

And of course, no dessert or greasy appetizers!

Get water instead of soda or beer.

Go to a sushi bar

split a meal with whoever you're at the restaurant with

have a large salad, minimal dressing
