Fox News does this kind of thing all the time, Rupert Murdoch even recently admitted to trying to push his own views and agenda through his news service. It's nothing more than a propaganda machine.
They have a lot of "experts" with overly vague titles giving opinions and unfounded claims while pretending to know what they're talking about. They also use the "Some people say..." as an opener pretty often to state another Murdoch opinion, and so on.
Watch the movie "Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism." for countless examples and clips and interviews with former Fox executives and employees to learn the full extend of how bad it is.
It's good though that you're finally leaving that ridiculous show.
