I haven't been to a whole lot of concerts so don't think less of me... at music concerts (ie red hot chili peppers - pretty big band) is it usually possible to buy tickets from scalpers?

yeah ... they will be in the parking lot or near the entrance .... Not stereotyping but just saying they are usually burly white guys 35 - 40 ... have your cash in two separate pockets ( don't too excited ) and if there's one guy there's more ...so don't rush to buy the first offer. If you are short cash ( or willing ) wait till after the show starts for best prices cause they don't want to get stuck with tickets... and try not to look like a cop! Good luck

There's usually scalpers hanging out around the front doors to sells tickets to would-be buyers.
Keep in mind that the ticket prices of scalpers are generally MUCH higher than what you'd pay at a box office.
Also, you do know scalping is illegal, right?

Possible but not advisable. For all you know, the scalpers could be pushing counterfeit tix!

Safest approach: buy the tickets in person at the concert site, from the group, or online from a vendor that the site or group mentions.

Yeah, if you're seeing a big band there's bound to be at least two milling around. There were a lot when I saw the Chilis last month.

Good Luck!
