William Shatner, AKA Captain Kirk from Star Trek, did a cover of the Beatles song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds". Instead of singing the verses, he spoke them. Very funny, but truly awful.

there are too many to mention that i cannot for the life of me pick out the worst. however for me, the worst culprits are girls aloud 'i think we're alone now', boyzone's when the going gets tough, westlife and marriah carey's against all odds. dance cover versions are just as horrid, likewise madhouse's like a prayer, la isla bonita, dj sammy's heaven, originally by bryan adams were awful. well, i disliked those versions anyway. i am not a huge fan of cover versions, as i mainly prefer the original over the other rendition of the same track

Judas Priest did a version of "Johnny be good" that was absolutely horrendous. Also, on the kiss tribute album, someone did a slow version of "Rock n Roll all night, and Party every day" that Reeeeaaaally sucked.
